Aubrey Marrero

Site Coordinator

Aubrey Marrero, born and raised in Rochester, most recently served as the Recruiting Liaison for Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning before taking on the Site Coordinator role. She has more than 12 years of experience in recruiting and community outreach. Raising her daughter locally has fed her unrelenting belief in the success of the great city of Rochester. She believes that the city’s residents can be successful when we create and maintain access to education, opportunity, and pathways to self-sufficiency. In addition to her experience in retail management, she also spent time as a Relationship Manager in personal banking with a dual role in Shared Value and Consumer Prosperity Initiatives. Aubrey is a five-time ESL Values in Practice award recipient, a proud winner of the Do the Right Thing Award from the City of Rochester, and the Legendary Leadership Award. Previously, she sat on the Washington Square Park Community Association Board and the Asset Partnership Board. Aubrey volunteers her time with the Champion Academy, as a Syracuse City School District Career Mentor, and on the Advisory Board for Edison Tech and BOCES.

Kevin Traut

Administrative Director
Chief HVAC Technical Educator, Skilled Trades Instructor

Kevin served four years as a Paratrooper in the US Army, and has lived in seven US States and three foreign countries. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and ran his own remodeling company in the Phoenix area for seven years, before specializing in the HVAC/R industry. He has lived in the Rochester, NY area with his wife and two daughters since 2001. During his over 25 years in the industry, Kevin has earned 16 North American Technician Excellence (NATE) Certifications, and served on its board from 2019-2023. As an instructor he holds five ESCO HVAC Educator Certifications, is an RSES certified Instructor (Refrigeration Service Engineers Society), and Certificate Member.

Tim Smith

Senior Trades Instructor, Certified Master HVAC Educator

Tim joins the ITEC instructional staff with over 5 years HVAC Field Service experience – 4 years specifically spent in the field trainer capacity. He is proud to have owned his own business where he honed his carpentry skills as a property rehabilitation specialist. Tim holds 13 NATE (North American Technician Excellence) Certifications; additionally, Tim has 7 ESCO – HVAC Excellence Educator Certifications, and has earned their Certified Master HVAC Educator credential. He loves watching students grow in their respective crafts and one of his go to pass times includes collecting comic books, trivia and various wood working projects!
