Trades Career Entry Program

The Golisano Construction Technology Training Program is a six-week intensive program that provides focused hands on training in the skilled trades with the intent of pairing graduates with local contractors in entry level positions. Participants of the program receive hands on training in the following trades: Rough Framing; Roofing; Plumbing and Pipe-Fitting; Basic Electrical Wiring; HVAC Fundamentals; Drywall; Painting and Finish work. To compliment the hands on training provided, participants also receive foundational skills training in preparation for obtaining full time employment in the construction trades. Topics include but are not limited to job site etiquette and communication, teamwork, financial skills and productive conflict resolution techniques. Participants will also prepare a resume and along with partaking in mock interviews preparing them to accept employment upon graduation.
