Our Mini-Split Heat Pump Installation Course is a three-and-a-half-day training course that covers everything you need to handle the installation of mini-split systems. We offer hands-on training at our 20,000-square-foot Rochester training facility — you’ll be equipped with the skill set required to confidently approach mini-split heat pump installation.

What Is Included in This Training?
The Minisplit Installation Course — NYSERDA Sponsored focuses on the basics of one-to-one and multi-head mini-split systems. You will review the equipment components, verify their compatibility, and install them according to the manufacturers’ recommendations.
You’ll learn to install mini-splits using various line-set connection techniques, pressure testing, evacuation, and refrigerant charging. During your training, we’ll address working with the new A2L refrigerants and have R32 equipment on-site for demonstration.

All of our HVAC courses require advance registration. Here’s everything you need to know about this course:
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday: 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Prerequisites: EPA 608 Type II certification
- $95 Price for New York State Residents only (out-of-state participants may attend at the full price of $1795)
All required tools will be provided, and lunch will be provided on full course days.

Do I need to be a professional HVAC technician to take this course?
Anyone interested in the HVAC trade can register for our courses. However, this course does require you to have the EPA 608 Type II certification for safe refrigerant handling.
Do I need to bring my own tools and equipment?
Please plan to bring your own tools for hands-on training, but we will have some tools available, and all mini-split equipment will be provided.
