ITEC Construction Technology Training Program
Course Description: Embark on a transformative journey into the world of construction with the NYPA-sponsored ITEC Construction Technology Training Program: a zero-cost to student, six-week initiative designed to introduce aspiring tradespeople to essential construction concepts and skills. This hands-on program provides participants with practical experience in a variety of trades, including framing, weatherization, drywall installation, blueprint interpretation, construction safety (OSHA-10 Certification), all while fostering a supportive learning environment.
Throughout the course, students will engage in hands-on activities that teach the safe and effective use of hand and power tools, providing a solid foundation for a successful career in construction. Complementing the technical training, the program also includes classroom sessions focused on vital skills such as effective communication, financial intelligence, goal setting, resume building, and interviewing techniques.
A unique aspect of this program is its emphasis on community empowerment and local employment opportunities. Participants will have the chance to meet with local employers, gaining insights into various career paths and networking opportunities within the industry.

Prerequisites: Nomination by a person of influence, completed form, and scholarship approval. Must be 18 years of age or older, and a New York State resident with valid photo ID.
Course Schedule:
– Full-time course (Monday-Friday, 7:45a-2:30p)
– In-person (105 McLaughlin Rd, Rochester, NY 14615)
Course Availability:
– July 6, 2026 – all documentation due June 19, 2026.
– October 5, 2026 – all documentation due September 18, 2026.
